Hermiston Irrigation District

Hermiston Irrigation District intends to use aquatic herbicide in their canal system this summer beginning April 15, 2024.  The herbicides to be used are Captain EPA #67690-9 with active ingredient copper and Natique EPA #67690-10.  Interested persons may call the district office at 541-567-3024 for further information and instructions on how to request 24-hour advance notice before application.

Landowners – both public and private – who make their land available without charge for recreational use by the public are not liable if a person is injured while using the land for recreational purposes.

It is that time of year again, when people walk the dog, jog or recreate on the ditch banks. Please be aware that most ditch banks are located on private property and it is trespassing. Please move aside if ditchriders are traveling on the ditchroad to perform their duties; and be respectful if a landowner asks you to not walk through their property. If you do so, you do it at your own risk.

We will be shutting off the A Line around noon today for some repairs. We plan of having it back on tomorrow to continue charging the system.

The March Board Meeting will be held on Thursday, March 14th at 4:00 pm at the Hermiston Irrigation District office.

The Field Crew is out in full force preparing for the 2024 Irrigation Season. Please make sure to have any easements in your area free and clear for the crew to come through.

We are on target to start water releases from Cold Springs Reservoir on April 1, 2024.
