5/6/2024 Update

Good morning. All lines are low due to lack of demand. We are taking 63 cfs from Cold Springs Reservoir and have0 30 cfs at the tail of the A line. We will turn in more water as soon as our demand comes up again. We don’t want to waste the water by sending it back to the Umatilla River.

5/3/2024 Update

The repairs have been made to the M~Line and we will be pouring concrete tomorrow morning.
The R~Bypass is running water to the end of the M~Line so that we can run the MA, ME, S and T-Lines that come off of the M~Line.
The A~C drop along Canal Rd has been shut off to stop water from going to the drain near the Project area.
The A~Line has been turned up so that we can flow more water into the upper end of the Maxwell and D~Line.

C&E Trenching has completed construction on HID’s new pump station where the Tail of the A-Line merges into the Maxwell Canal. This project was funded by FEMA and Oregon Emergency Management. This pump station was built to mitigate for a quarter mile stretch of the Maxwell Canal that was severely eroded away during the 2019 and 2020 Flood events in the Umatilla River.

M Line Repair

The repairs to the M Line were completed over the weekend and the water was released on Monday morning to charge this line. However, after water was released, the M Line broke in a different location further upstream. HID immediately turned off the water to the M Line and reduced the water in the Maxwell canal. The Crew is working to set the forms and concrete will be delivered and poured on Wednesday. We anticipate water to be released into the M Line on Friday. HID knows that this is not an ideal situation and we are working very hard to get water to your dry parcels. We will keep you updated on the progress of the repair and will answer any questions you may have.

Update April 12, 2024

Repairs to the M-Line are on schedule. Crews are pouring concrete this morning. We are also releasing 92 cfs from Cold Springs Reservoir and charging up the rest of the system so that dry areas will charge up quickly when we release the water to the M-Line. We will have that line open by Monday morning.
